The End of the World

They say the end of the world starts with you. Okay, I have no idea who ‘they’ is, but it sounds pretty cool, and I’m sure I heard it from someone else. I’ve been told I’m not creative all my life, my sister being one of them, so I’m sure I didn’t come up with […]

BRZRKR & More Comic Book Reviews for 4/28

DC is here to redeem themselves after some poor showings these last two weeks. It’s the perfect time too, because there’s only one Marvel release on my pull list. New Mutants is great, but it’s nice to see DC do pretty good for the most part after some lackluster title releases. That isn’t say DC […]

House of M: A Past Best Forgotten

Spoilers for House of M, written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Olivier Coipel. House of M is a story that has defined the X-Men since before I started avidly reading comics. I’ve always loved the X-Men but I didn’t start reading comics until DC’s New 52 reboot. I even didn’t start reading Marvel […]

S.W.O.R.D. & Comic Book Reviews for 4/21

This week, Marvel with SWORD contends for the best singular issue of the year, while half the week falls flat. I only picked up one DC book today, Justice League, and the rest were X-Men.  The highs of Marvel with SWORD and Way of X were really high, and the lows of Justice League and […]

Guardians of the Galaxy & Comic Book Reviews for 4/14

Comics this week were good. Between a landmark issue for Guardians of the Galaxy, a new Batman series by Tom Taylor, plus more good ole X-Men, times are good. Not saying that every comic I picked up this week landed, but more often than not, they did. Guardians of the Galaxy #13, written by Al […]

Boom’s Magic the Gathering #1 Thoughts

I am a casual Magic the Gathering fan, *I say as I look at hundreds of dollars worth of cards*. I used to be really into the game for a hot minute. Wizards of the Coast had me entranced by the cool cards and the flavor text, I’m a simple lad. Plus, it gave me […]

Justice League: The Snyder Cut Review

It’s finally here. The long awaited, the long rumored, the speculated and the dreamed, the Snyder Cut. Video version on YouTube here. Okay, eccentrics aside, we have every reason to be shocked this movie exists. What were the odds that we would ever get to see this cut? Next to none, and honestly, I believe […]

Batman/Catwoman: Thoughts So Far

Spoilers for Batman/Catwoman #1-4 Now, I’ll be honest, I’ve never been too much of a Catwoman fan. I don’t there’s anything particularly wrong with her character, she just doesn’t appeal to me. The relationship between Batman and Catwoman makes it so one of them has to give up a part of their character for them […]

DC’s Infinite Frontier So Far

So the Infinite Frontier has begun, and I’ve read a few of the first new issues this week. I’ve read Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Detective Comics, Justice League, Teen Titans Academy, and Batman: Urban Legends. Eight titles in all. I think most get off to a relatively good start, here are some quick […]

A DC vs Capcom Fighting Game?

It’s been over 3 years since Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite came out. After that, it’s only been a few months more since Injustice 2 came out. This isn’t the worst time to talk about new games in either franchise, let alone a DC vs Capcom game. Since then, we haven’t gotten more than a few […]
